“Traveller Food” shows you the vast amount of food available in the supermarket that has already travelled halfway around the world and has thus become a Lifetime Tourist.
The journey begins with the common, everyday food that the consumer has at his disposal. To avoid a distraction by the look of real food, the shapes and colours chosen are held very abstract, but are fitting to the organic growing forms of the “islands”. The food is reduced to its simplest form possible, however still maintaining the level of recognition.
The installation is firstly part of BETA Lab’s “Lifetime Tourist” exhibition for the Design Month and shows which countries import the most amount of food to Austria.
Secondly it presents the nominees for the GREEN PANTHER AWARD 2011.
